Meet your trainer, Liz
Liz began training dogs in 2011, shortly after she adopted her first NAUGHTY dogs (pictured right) from the Hawaiian Humane Society, the animal shelter she was working at at the time.
I [thought] I tried everything to get them to walk on the leash without pulling. I tried all the “no-pull” contraptions, and lots of rewards. I remember crying on walks. Running or hiking with them was a nightmare. They fought EACH OTHER in the dog park. They ganged up on other dogs, chased cats and chickens, barked at the back fence all day, and “T” even bit someone entering my apartment once!
I was at my wits end with these dogs. Something had to change or I had to make the unfortunate decision to take them back to the shelter. Thankfully, through research and trial and error, I found I had the skills and resources to improve not only their behavior, but my relationship with them as well.
Fast forward a few months and I was finally able to enjoy my life with my dogs. These two went from menacing, repeat-offenders at the pound, to bomb-proof, airplane-riding, road-tripping, off-leash living, apartment-dwelling companions. I had more freedom with them than I had ever imagined, and they turned out to be better dogs than I had even dreamed of.
It’s not a secret how we got there, and I’m here to show you the way. You can have your freedom back too. -Liz
